Dog Walking at our facility

If you find yourself struggling to exercise your dog for whatever reason Spatchcock Boarding Kennels can help. You can drop your dog off for them to be walked around the farmland surrounding the kennels for a morning or afternoon session with or without socialisation as per your requirements.
A half day session costs £10.

Collection and Delivery Service

Preparing to go away on holiday is a very time-consuming task - so much to remember. Our collection and delivery service is available to give you more time to finish your packing and it can also reduce your dog's stress by not rushing them to the kennels - they will pick up on your stress and it could take them longer to settle. Also available for our day care customers on a 1st come 1st served basis, please call us to discuss your requirements. Collection times are from 7.30-9.30am and drop offs from 5.00-6.30pm. Our charges start from £5 and are shown on our pricing page. We collect and drop around Cirencester, Northleach, Fairford, Down Ampney and the many villages close by.

Basic Training

1-2-1 sessions whilst boarding - we can provide half hour sessions during your dog's stay to help them master the basic commands. When you collect your dog we will go through their progress and guide you on ways to continue their good work.
Half hour session is £15

We also offer socialisation training to help dogs that can be reactive to other dogs, either whilst boarding or as a separate service. It is beneficial for the owners to be present for parts of this training, and to participate, so as to give your dog the best chance of correcting their behaviour.

Socialisation visits - half day sessions - Puppies and Adult Dogs

Studies identify that puppies between the ages of 6 to 16 weeks are at their most "open" minded state and the first three to four months of a puppy's life are the most critical period for socialisation. This means the most beneficial time to use a quality Dog Day care facility for socialisation is as soon as your puppy is fully vaccinated.
For a young dog, long periods of time playing in groups with other like-minded play mates provides the mental, social and physical stimulation they need. Well socialised puppies are less fearful and become better behaved as adult dogs.
Combine with a basic training session to help get your new family member as well behaved as early as possible.
Adult dogs can also benefit from socialisation sessions if they are shy and maybe didn't get the exposure to other dogs at the critical stage in their development.
We will put together socialisation groups based on compatability of temperaments to ensure a pleasant and fun experience.
Half day sessions are £10

Fitness and Weight Loss Stays

If your dog needs to lose weight and get fit, we can help. With a minimum 2 week stay, we can maintain a calorie controlled intake of food with additional exercise to our normal routine to help them shed the pounds needed to bring them back to a healthy weight. The exercise will gradually be increased during their stay and will be undertaken in consultation with your vet.
£200 per week with a minimum of a 2 week stay - full boarding

Reiki Relaxation and Healing sessions - ½ hour sessions

About Reiki

Reiki has been used and acknowledged to support human healing and stress relief for many years now and our dogs can benefit from this wonderful technique in just the same way. Reiki is used in many dog rehoming centres worldwide to assist with fearful and mistreated dogs and has been very successful in helping previously difficult dogs get adopted into new homes.

In the energetic space of a Reiki session, the body has the opportunity to naturally rebalance, and common healing effects are signs of peace, well-being and relaxation which leads to physical, emotional and/or spiritual improvement and healing.

Reiki can:

  • Maintain health and well-being on the physical, mental and emotional levels
  • Induce deep relaxation and stress-relief
  • Accelerate healing in sick or injured animals, or animals recovering from surgery
  • Help reduce pain and inflammation
  • Help reduce behaviour problems and aggression
  • Help abused animals heal from previous mental or physical trauma
  • Complement conventional and alternative therapies
  • Lessen the side effects of other medical treatments
  • Support the dying process

Why is Reiki an ideal holistic therapy for dogs?

  • It is gentle, non-invasive, painless and stress-free.
  • It goes to the issues that need it most, even when unknown to the practitioner
  • It can do no harm to either recipient or practitioner
